Within each sector a myriad of document types exist including books, magazines, instruction manuals, drug labels, board game instructions, and more!

**A more detailed description of each offering is coming soon**

2. Who do I edit for?

Based on my educational background and personal interests, I am knowledgable in editing copy for businesses and entrepreneurs who work in the following sectors

  • art and art history

  • crafts

  • editing

  • fashion

  • homesteading

  • museums

However, if you don't see the sector you work in, don't fret! Feel free to contact me, and we can have a chat to see if we'll be a match!

3. Why hire an editor for your business?

Now, you may not think that small business owners or entrepreneurs need editors. But, as a business owner or entrepreneur

  • Do you want to spend less time worrying about comma splices, typos, incomplete clauses, or whether or not you have the right 'its' or 'it's' in your online copy?

  • Do you want to eliminate procrastination?

  • Do you want more credibility?

  • Do you want more clarity in your message?

  • Do you want more consistency throughout your brand?

  • And most importantly, do you want to save time and money in the long run?

If you answered YES to some or all of these questions, that's great! I can help you achieve this if we work together. Contact me for more details.

4. What do I charge?

For each client, I provide a per project rate based on

  1. the type of project

  2. the length of the project

  3. the type of editing package chosen

  4. whether the project requires a heavy or light edit

Since every editing project is different, I am conscientious of the time and value it takes to provide quality service, and I want to avoid short-changing myself or you, as the client.

Please reach out via my Contact page to inquire more about quotes for your project.

5. What is my process?

Upon reaching out to me by email, my Contact page, or a direct message on my Instagram or Facebook pages, I will respond to you within a 24 to 48 hour period between Monday and Friday requesting that you book a free 30-minute consultation call with me over Zoom.

In this call, we will discuss the project at hand. Some questions may include:

  • What is your target market?

  • What is your deadline?

  • What is your goal by hiring a freelance editor?

  • How do you prefer to communicate when working together?

  • Do you want any additional meetings or revisions?

  • What stage is your written copy at?

  • What software/hardware are you using?

  • Who is the main point of contact?

From there, I will ask you to send me a 250-word sample of your written copy (or a sample newsletter) that I will proofread or edit for free. I will send this and a quote back to you within our discussed timeframe.

If you are happy with the edit or proofread and the quote, I will send you the invoice plus the terms of the agreement. In most cases payment of the invoice is required up front before work begins on the full project (exceptions include very large or ongoing projects).

Once I have completed the project within the outlined timeframe, I will email it back to you with my edits and comments.
